The FODMAP diet is a diet that is often used for irritable bowel syndrome (PDS). FODMAP is a collective name for a number of groups of carbohydrates. These cannot be properly absorbed by the body. This causes many complaints to some people. Think of abdominal pain, bloating, flatulence or an abnormal stool pattern. By avoiding these carbohydrates, your symptoms can decrease.
